Sharing personal experiences longer phrases card games

Instructions for teachers

Copy and cut up one set of cards for each group of 2-4 students. Give them just the starting and ending cards (i.e. not those in bold in the middle) to match up to make the shorter phrases. Then give them the middle cards to check their answers and extend the sentences. Check as a class or with un-cut-up copies of the worksheets. Other matches are possible, but there should only be one way to match them all up.

Speaking games

Students deal out the cards and try to use phrases with those words to support their opinions while they debate a topic you give them.

AND/ OR

Get students to choose cards for their partner to use. After the story finishes, they should guess if the personal experience they talked about is true or not.
