Worksheet 1 – Going to travel mimes
Choose one action below. Very slowly mime the lead up to the action. So that the future tense sentence is correct, do not start doing the thing written below but only the time before it, e.g. you can mime squeezing a bottle on sun cream into your hands and taking your clothes off your shoulders but stop before the sun cream actually touches your shoulders. Continue miming until your partner guesses, then take turns doing the same.
- It’s going to start raining.

When your teacher stops you, ask about any you are not sure about, working together to think of suitable mimes each time.
Worksheet 2 – Typical travel phrases
Write what is going to happen after each of the following things are said in a restaurant, plane, hotel or airport. There is one example in bold below.
Compare as a class.
Test each other on the language:
- say the phrase and see if your partner can say what is going to happen
- say the phrase and see if your partner can identify the place
- say what is going to happen and see if your partner can say a related phrase (with other correct things not below also okay)
- say one which needs a response, say what is going to happen, and see if your partner can respond
- say one which needs a response, see if your partner can respond, then roleplay the rest of the situation
- choose one of the four locations and roleplay a conversation there, using phrases from below if you like
