Business Result Pre-Intermediate Unit 11

Work together to make sentences by filling the gaps. If there are options divided by a slash (/), choose one of them.

If we take foreign guests to a Korean restaurant/ karaoke/ sumo/ a hostess bar/ an Irish-style pub/ an English-style pub/ football match, __________________________________

________________________________________________________________________

If ______________________________________________________________________, they will get bored/ drunk/ sunburnt/….

If we really want to impress a client, __________________________________________.

If we want to entertain a client without using much money, ________________________

_______________________________________________________________________.

If the guest is a vegetarian, ________________________________________________.

If different guests want to eat and drink different things, __________________________

______________________________________________________________________.

If the guest has never eaten Japanese food,____________________________________

_______________________________________________________________________.

When your teacher stops you, read out one of your sentences and see if the class agree.

Ask about any which you are not sure how to complete, you would like to hear other opinions on, etc, working together to complete them as a class each time.

What phrases can you use to talk to the guests in the restaurant in the last two situations above?

Imagine your partner does know about or disagrees about trying some of the food and drink on the menu on page 69 or that your teacher shows, and explain what it is and why it is a good idea.

Change pairs. Do the same but with each person taking the opposite role to last time.
