Instructions
Put the left hand and right hand cards together to make basic phrases.
Add the middle column (in bold) to check and expand your answers.
Check as a class or with the suggested answers.
Test each other on the phrases:
- Read the long version and see if your partner can remember the short version.
- Read the short version and see if your partner can remember the long version.
- Read the left and middle columns and see if your partner can remember the whole phrase.
- Read the middle and right columns and see if your partner can remember the whole phrase.
- Read the middle part and see if your partner can remember the long version.
- Give the name of a function (e.g. “Explaining your aim”) and help your partner come up with as many phrases as they can with that function (with other phrases not on the cards also okay).
