Take turns asking each other personal questions about clothes and fashion with questions made from question stems from this list:

When your teacher stops you, ask about any question stems above which you couldn’t make questions out of, couldn’t think of how to answer, etc, working together as a class to think of suitable questions and answers each time.

  • Do any of your friends spend too much on clothes?
  • Do you do anything to cut down on your spending on clothes?
  • Do you have the same taste in clothes as your parents?

  • Do you prefer to go to shops or buy clothes online?
  • Do you spend a lot of time thinking about what you are going to wear?
  • Do you usually throw clothes away when you have stopped wearing them?
  • Has your style changed since you were younger?
  • How do you usually buy clothes?
  • How fashion conscious are you?
  • Is there anything that you would really like to change about your look?
  • Tell us about the last time you regretted buying some clothes.  
  • Were you really into fashion when you were younger?
  • What is your favourite accessory?
  • What sort of clothes do you like?
  • What things were trendy when you were younger?
  • Would you describe yourself as a fashion victim?
  • Would you say that you are conservative about what you wear?

When your teacher stops you, ask about any questions above which you couldn’t understand, couldn’t answer, etc.

Ask the same questions in exam format, with one examiner asking a mixture of the same question and different questions to two or three candidates. Unlike the real test, do this with just the one topic above.
