Instructions for teachers
Cut up one pack of cards per group of two to four students, keeping the middle cards in bold in different packs. You can remove any phrases which are too difficult and/ or not useful for your students, but make sure there are at least ten complete phrases.
Students first of all match only the left–hand cards and right–hand cards to make basic phrases, then add the cards in bold to the middle to check and expand on their answers.
After checking as a class or with the suggested answers, students can test each other by:
- reading out a long phrase with one missing word for their partner to complete
- reading out two cards and helping their partner make a complete phrase
- reading out a key word and helping their partner make a complete phrase from it
with other correct answers that are not on the cards also okay.
