Instructions for teachers
Cut up one pack of cards per two students and remove any adverbs of frequency that you don’t want to cover or haven’t presented, and perhaps adding others on the blank cards. Ask them to shuffle and deal out five cards per person. They can look at their cards but shouldn’t show them to their partner. They have to ask each other “How often do you…?” questions, and can discard a card if their partner answers with the expression that is on their card. The first person with no cards is the winner.
Before or after playing the game, you could get the students to put the cards in order from “Always” to “Never”.
You can play the same game with cards saying “Once a week”, “Twice a year”, etc.
