Movie vocabulary and discussion questions

Inside Out Upper Intermediate Unit 11

Take turns asking questions from this list, not looking below when it’s your turn to answer:

  • Would you say that you are a movie buff? Why/ why not?
  • What kinds of films do you like?
  • What’s the worst film you’ve ever seen? What did you hate about it?
  • Do you follow any particular actors or directors? Why/ why not?
  • What makes a good film in your opinion?
  • What is most important for you when you choose a movie – actors, visuals, good dialogue, director, twists in the plot, setting, genre, etc?
  • Does knowing a movie is star-studded put you off watching a movie? Why/ why not?
  • Do you think it is okay for adults to watch animation? Why/ why not?
  • What did you think of the last movie you saw?

When your teacher stops you, ask about any questions you don’t understand, are not sure how to answer, etc, working together to rephrase and/ or answer the questions each time.

Aspects of a movie (to discuss/ describe/ include in a movie review)
