Inside Out Upper Intermediate Unit 3

Take turns asking the most interesting questions from below, not looking below when it’s your turn to answer.

  • Did you spend more or less than usual last weekend? Why?
  • What’s the most you’ve ever spent over a weekend? What did you spend it on?
  • What is the cheapest possible night out in this city? What would it consist of?
  • How would you spend your weekend if you were skint (= broke = penniless)?
  • Is there anywhere outside this city where you could go for the weekend where it would actually be cheaper than staying here?
  • Where would you go to splash out at the weekend (= blow some cash at the weekend)?
  • How would you spend your first weekend after winning a fortune?
  • What’s the best place for kids to spend their pocket money in this city?
  • What things did you do last weekend which weren’t worth the money?

When your teacher stops you, ask about anything above you aren’t clear about, working together to think of suitable answers each time.

Ask each other questions with the same vocabulary, questions stems and or/ topics as above and/ or ask other questions about money.
