How questions answer me

quantifiers/ numbers and units/ making uncountable nouns countable

Take four cards. Try to ask questions for which your partner’s true answers match one of your cards, in which case you can discard that card. The first person with no cards left is the winner.

A litre  300 millilitres      An hour  2 kms
One or two cups      Just a little  Quite a lot  A lot
Just a drop      Just a pinch  Two slices  Once a month
Twice a day      Half a kilo  250 grams  A teaspoon full
A tablespoon full      One slice  A few slices  None/ Not any
One bottle      One jar  One carton  One glass (full)
  One or two pieces

When your teacher stops you, look at all of the cards and ask about any which are difficult to understand, hard to think of questions for, etc, answering your teacher’s related “How…?” questions each time. Then make more cards to do the same with.
