TEFL makes the technology news

… and it’s not because of Interactive Whiteboards- see here for details.

I’d go even further than the article and say never send money to a recruiter. Even if there could be legitimate reasons, do you want to work with a school that has such cashflow problems or trusts its teachers so little to stay that they won’t pay for the visa process?

But why would you need advice from me or a technology site when the Guardian newspaper has its own TEFL section. Ah yes, that’ll be because that newspaper is full of “articles” written by people who get paid for each innocent customer who is tempted into the TEFL trap.

You know, I wish some of these TEFL watch-dogs would actually POST A LIST OF KNOWN TEFL companies that are scams…. this is obsurd, searching for days on end, wondering if an online school is legit or not… I get little pieces here and there, but no REAL proof, all of it is just opinion.

IF you accuse, give references to support your claim. I NEED IT to get my money back.
