Thanks loads, Alex, for the mention and kick-starting my blog!

There are loads of things I’m hoping to write about, but the general idea for the blog is as follows:

    1. To debate ways of improving language teaching and pedagogy. What is the hidden agenda behind the ‘CELTA’ method??

    2. To look at alternative ways of running language schools: does it have to be an evil greedy owner on one side or a Stalinist bureaucratic state organisation on the other?

    3. I believe that the teacher’s job is to (as much as possible) encourage ‘autonomous acquisition’ of the language. What ways can we do this in a classroom setting?

Some of this may be useless theorising, but it feels good to have the freedom to say it when there seems to be so much silence and apathy amongst colleagues sometimes.

    Dear 26 letters,

I am taking a hop, skip and jump with a spring in my step directly over to your blog. This sounds like a very interesting set of questions and one that I am happy to explore with you. Welcome to the blogspace and looking forward to your posts. More over at your ‘house’
