After surprising myself by getting through three months of walking to work in the record Korean snow injury free, I rather ironically slipped over on a slightly wet wheelchair ramp in the land of go chuui kudasai (please be careful, the most heard phrase in the risk-hating place that is Japan). An inconveniently placed kerb left the top two thirds of my left little finger at an odd 45 degree angle and a tiny piece of my knuckle one milimetre further away than a cast could solve on its own. Being Asia rather than the British NHS, instead of someone slapping round the face to wake me up and get me out of the hospital, I had to demand to get off my drip and get home three days (for a little finger!) after the operation to put a wire in the bone.
Luckily, I’ve always been a four finger typist, but the cast keeps on hitting odd buttons on the keyboard, and my consequent swearing fits are slowing me down even more. Hence the odd, half-finished and misspelt comments, lack of capital letters (not the return of my pretentious teenage self thinking it is avant garde!), and far more links than text in my latest article:
The Big List of CPD for ELT – LINK FIXED
I hope you will all forgive my incoherence being worse than usual (and the melodramatic post title) more than my wife is forgiving me avoiding nappy changing duties…
Thanks, Alex.
This is a wonderful list, be it for newbies or those who have been teaching for decades. In many ways, all PD begins with awareness, so even a simple list can be a powerful tool.

Hope your finger is better soon Alex. Ouch. One handed nappy changing is possible so don’t be slacking for too long :)

That doesn’t sound like much fun at all! Hope you’re back in fighting form soon. I’ll check out the list when I’m not on an iPod…
