Gender in the EFL classroom

Whilst putting together a lesson on the topic I was surprised how much I could base it on stuff I’d already done over the years:

Article

Gender in the language classroom – LINK FIXED

Worksheets

Adverbs of frequency gender policy discussion

Gender roles case studies

Gender specific vocabulary

Gender discussion, including on acceptable gender differences

Personality and appearance gender guessing game (a bit long!)

Present Simple Men and Women guessing and answer key

Thank you for sharing those practical, evocative, and wide-ranging materials. Given the potential mishaps, I’ve often avoided gender discussions in class but the personality and appearance worksheet seems like a very vocabulary rich way to address the topic. Good job!

PS. As you know, we often have to be rather careful on PC topics in our classrooms.

Thanks for the encouragement and link love, always feel a bit guilty about linking to myself like this and bored by the process of doing so, so always good to get some motivation
