I was reminded of this while looking through the sheer number in the catalogues for this year and while flicking through some recent OUP examples:

Most YL textbooks are designed to precisely match the criteria of some specific school board or two in Saudi Arabia, China, Catalunya, etc etc. Something worth thinking about, I reckon, be it while you are marvelling at how many there are, before you choose one, and when you are shaking your head at some of the bizarrest things in them when you have done so…
