You live and learn

Apparently the reason why people don’t upload Word documents to their sites is not connected to copyright theft paranoia like I thought (that was my copyright paranoia paranoia), but because you can upload nasty viruses and suchlike with them- which is just what I did. And the result was a minor heart attack as over 600 blog posts and 600 pages disappeared. It almost all seems to be back, no thanks to me (thanks Josef!), but there are some odd bits like where it still  says there are 5 comments where in fact they have all disappeared and some missing pages.  Please let me know if you find any other weirdness (other than my writing style).

Anyhow, I’ll be using this free online PDF conversion service even more from now on, and if you want to put your own worksheets up on a WordPress blog too, it is incredibly easy to do the same.

I guess the other lesson is, if you have a favourite worksheet from here or elsewhere, keep a hard or electronic copy in case they all disappear. If anyone has a copy of my old IELTS worksheets from onestopenglish, I didn’t follow my own advice with them and need a copy myself
