It’s a shame a “distant shave” isnt an English idiom, because that’s as close as I got to disaster with the tragic events 300 kms north of here. It was close enough to make me a bit philosophical though. My first thought about seizing the day was that I wanted to leave some kind of legacy and so I was going to make a proper push to finish off those hundreds of articles and get all those worksheets online.

My second thought about making the most of whatever time I have left was that I’d already wasted enough time on this TEFL lark and so I should give it up and just spend more time with my friends and family.

I have therefore decided that the major change will be that I will strike some kind of messy compromise between the two, always feeling guilty about neglecting whichever one I’m not doing, whereas up to now…
