I have good memories of my two weeks covering someone’s leave in St Giles Eastbourne, and the fact that they didn’t give me a permanent position and instead left the young me for the likes of EF to employ is a decision that I would entirely agree with, looking back. Somebody also once told me that they have little use for agents because they get enough word of mouth recommendations to keep their schools in the UK full, and any enemy of agents is a friend of mine! Now, though, even they have employed an SEO “expert” to churn out this kind of crap:

Oh dear, it’s all there – the dodgy grammar, the list of countries that you don’t actually need qualifications for, etc. Describing someone with a Trinity CertTESOL as “highly qualified” is a new low, though.

“You will also have access to the internationally recognized TESOL jobs board and a large list of language schools, making your search for a job in the perfect location easier.”

If only someone had given me a list of language schools when I was starting out. Wait, a list of language schools? What possible use is that?? And what on earth is “the internationally recognized TESOL jobs board”???

I’m very disappointed in you, St Giles International. Now go and sit in a corner until you learn the error of your ways.
