An EFL A to Z of Christmas and the New Year

After the success (?) of my EFL dictionary of football for UsingEnglish.com, have embarked upon a Xmas dictionary/ encyclopedia that we aim to eventually make part of a wider one on holidays and festivals. We want to be as multicultural as possible, so if they do something in Liberia or the Black Country that really should get a mention, get yourself over to the forums and give me additions, simplifications or corrections:

Christmas and New Year dictionary/ encyclopedia Part One

For all other things Xmas, you couldn’t do better than get yourself over to Hall Houston’s A Teacher in Taoyuan blog, and I’m not only saying that because he mentioned my own huge 2008 worksheet haul. More recent stuff not included on Hall’s list include:

Good King Wenceslas storytelling and vocabulary (my own, should you decide to do Xmas songs with adults)

Jingle Bells rhyming words practice (ditto)

Twas the night before Xmas Correction task and speaking (almost ditto, but poem)

While shepherds watched their flocks Storytelling and vocabulary

Once in royal David’s city Rhyming words

Little donkey Rhyming words

Away in a manger Mixed up last lines

Have yourself a Merry little Xmas Text reordering

Turkey trouble song (an amazing amount of Xmas vocab in one new fun song for kids, from LearnEnglishKids)
